Riverdance A Farewell Tour!

Last night I had the fortune of being able to attend a live performance of Riverdance  (Riverdance is a theatrical show consisting of traditional Irish step dancing, notable for its rapid leg movements while body and arms are kept largely stationary From Wikipedia.com)   8pm last night Nokia Theater Grand Prairie,Texas. My family and I reached about 10 mins late (normal for us) We got our seats at about the 3rd act. My son who is an avid performer himself (ok so he's only 3) couldn't help but wiggle on my lap during the more than 13 or so acts. I had seen Lord Of The Dance (TV) and snippets of Riverdance (again TV) but had know idea how wonderful this performance would be. I am not one to spoil it but the best parts of the show from my perspective was the Trading Taps (Basically Jazz meets Celtic) , the Marta's Dance (Russian Dervish) and Firedance (Flamenco). I am also planning to attend Lord Of The Dance next month. Look for my review of that also.

Social Media, Love Thang or Pang

So your sitting at home ready to hit the net. Do you Goto Facebook and check the happenings of your friends, family or coworkers? Or do you goto Myspace and check the happenings of your friends, family or coworkers? Or do you hit Twitter and either update or get updated on your friends, family or coworkers? See the pattern? We are going Social Media nutso! It seems as if our attention needs to be pulled in five different directions at all times. Don't get me wrong, I am an avid Facebook and Twitter user but when do you reclaim or hold dear at-least some of your privacy. The second I start getting updates of my friends, family or coworkers bathroom habits, I know i'm through. Think about it like this, If our forefathers intended for our every move to be tracked, verified and responded to they wouldn't signed that piece of paper. As the Internet becomes more widespread, affordable to access and easier to use, one must ask? What other rights will we freely Twitter away?

Blacklists A Legitimate User's Nightmare

I recently had a client of mine that was blacklisted. Blacklisting is when a person's email is being recognized as spam or nefarious in nature. These companies basically report to Msn, Yahoo, Gmail...etc that your address is not legit and therefore you cannot email its subscribers. However useful, it can also be a terrible pain to reverse. While rectifying my clients issue I came accross Mxtoolbox.com. Their Mxtools provide MX Lookup, RevDns Testing Blacklist Lookup and Support not to mention various other useful utilities.

MxToolbox, Inc. launched its first on-demand messaging infrastructure services in 2003. The firm provides small and medium-sized business IT staff and IT consultants with a diversified suite of innovative messaging infrastructure services, ranging from spam/virus filtering and email disaster recovery to hosted email and groupware. **
Boasting clients such as Amnesty International, Maytag, PBS&J and TXU, MX Toolbox enables and protects millions of Internet interactions daily. Currently, the firm provides messaging management services to nearly 1,000 customers, representing 500,000 end users. **

MXToolbox's Free Email Server Monitoring Service takes the guessing out of server management.  If something is wrong with your email server, you need to know right away. MX Toolbox's Free Email Server Monitoring lets you rest easy by sending you alerts when there is a problem with server performance, availability or reputation.
